Although Tropical Storm Emily has fallen apart, chances of the storm regenerating are high which means you should still have your hurricane supplies ready. Besides having your pantry filled with canned food and water, you should also consider having the following basic supplies on hand.

Battery powered radio

Extra batteries

Duct tape and masking tape

Clean containers for storing food and water

Disposable plastic eating utensils

Hand-operated can opener

Tools (such as screwdrivers, hammers, nails, etc.)

Mosquito repellent

Garbage bags

Also remember to have enough prescription medications. It’s recommended to have at least one month supply. And don’t forget about your pets! Have at least a two week supply of pet food ready.
