According to BMO Economics, as seen in the Herald-Tribune, Florida's economy is expected to grow by 3.3% this year, up from the 2.7% real GDP growth of 2014. Florida is expected to be slightly ahead of the nation in economic growth due to strong employment gains.

The housing market appears to hold the key to Florida's recovery with real estate service employment quickly improving. With unemployment rates continuing to decline in the state, ending 2014 at 5.6%, Florida is now back in line with the national average. The Florida regional president for business banking at BMO Harris Bank, Dave Maraman, states, "It's good news to see such impressive growth in the Florida economy" and we couldn't agree with him more.
