Boobie Troopers
Florida Peninsula employee, Deniz Ozaltin, along with her sister Mariela Contreras-Piana and family, run an incredible non-profit organization, Boobie Troopers. Boobie Troopers was founded in 2013 by Mariela upon being diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 23. She was fortunate enough to be surrounded by her amazing friends and family, which further drove her goals to create a space where others could feel the same support. Boobie Troopers’ main focus is being one of the first contact and support resources that a patient receives upon being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. They put together and distribute care bags to patients in Florida hospitals and cancer centers year-round. These bags contain items such as a resource sheet, socks, journals, pens, head scarves, lotions, water bottles, and much more. These care bags make the process just a little easier and more comforting. They collect supply donations year-round to make the gift bags possible. Florida Peninsula supports this organization and you can too. For ways to donate or support Boobie Troopers, visit Boobietroopers.org.
